Why “lug to lug”?
Lug-to-lug is the distance across a watch case from lug tip to lug tip — the one number that actually decides whether a watch fits your wrist. A 40 mm case with 52 mm lugs wears bigger than a 42 with 49. Most spec sheets skip it. Most retailers don't know it.
We named the site after the measurement everyone else leaves out, because that's the standard the rest of the database is held to: the details that determine how a watch wears, not just how it photographs.

Specs, measured
Case diameter, thickness, lug width — and lug-to-lug, which we've recorded on 4,930 watches so far. Sourced from manufacturers, cross-checked against product pages, and corrected by the community when a brand's own sheet is wrong.
Street prices, not sticker prices
We track what watches actually change hands for on the secondary market — averages, ranges, and value retention over time — alongside the list price. A watch that holds 90% is a different purchase than one that halves.

The database runs the full spectrum — the maisons, the mainstream Swiss and Japanese houses, and 493 independent microbrands, many of which no other database touches. We believe a $400 microbrand diver deserves the same level of documentation as a $10,000 chronograph, and the site is built to surface watches you weren't going to find on your own.
lug²lug is independent and ad-free. Nobody pays for placement, no affiliate deal reorders a ranking — roundups are scored against the spec database with the criteria published on the page. When the data is wrong, the community can fix it.
