Senator Meissen "Cherry Blossom"
Glashütte Original has partnered with Meissen, the historic porcelain manufacturer, for a new porcelain-dial watch inspired by the Japanese "Jugatsu-zakura" cherry blossom. This timepiece features a hand-painted porcelain dial, devoid of hour markers or numerals, allowing the delicate floral motif to take center stage. It is powered by Glashütte Original's in-house Caliber 36-16 automatic movement.
- Price: $38,200 USD
- Limited Edition: Yes
The dial is crafted from a thin slice of white Meissen porcelain, with hand-painted layers fired at 900° Celsius between applications to achieve depth and intensity.
The dial features Glashütte Original's lettering and Meissen's crossed swords logo hand-painted near the center, with no hour markers, numerals, or indices.
The movement, Caliber 36-16, includes a silicon balance spring and a stop-seconds mechanism (hacking seconds).
The watch comes on a dark blue Louisiana alligator leather strap with a red gold pin buckle.
The design highlights the delicate cherry blossom motif with slender branches and pale-pink flowers, contrasted by solid-gold hour and minute hands.
The exhibition sapphire crystal caseback reveals the hand-engraved balance cock and decorated movement.
