A. Lange & Söhne has reintroduced its highly complex Triple Split chronograph, now presented for the first time in a 950 platinum case. This new iteration features a rhodium-colored solid silver dial with darker grey registers, offering a refined take on the panda dial aesthetic. The watch retains its exceptional Calibre L132.1, capable of measuring intermediate and comparative times up to 12 hours, a feat unique in watchmaking.

The new platinum edition reverses the tonal scheme of the original white gold version, featuring a rhodium-colored dial with darker grey registers, which is described as the most compelling version yet.
The Triple Split is the only split-seconds chronograph capable of recording intermediate and comparative times for up to 12 hours, with its rattrapante mechanism extending to the minute and hour counters.
The manually wound Calibre L132.1 comprises 567 parts and must coordinate three rattrapante mechanisms, two isolators, a precisely jumping minute counter, and a six-hand flyback.
The "panda" dial is a pale grey that reminds the reviewer of a long-ago Lange limited edition chronograph, with dark grey sub-dials that are a striking feature rarely found on Lange chronographs.
The immediate impression of the Triple Split is one of size and weight, now even weightier thanks to the platinum case, which is described as a reassuring feeling, albeit at the expense of balance on the wrist and ergonomics.
The movement, the manually wound L132.1 caliber, is made of 567 parts, 46 jewels, and has 5 screwed gold chatons, running at 3Hz with a 55-hour power reserve.
The watch has a well-balanced dial and wears well despite the noticeable heft on the wrist, which is balanced out a bit by the quick-release deployant buckle in 950 platinum.
The new edition is technically a reintroduction as it's been absent for almost half a decade, with previous versions in 2018 and 2021 both limited to 100 pieces and selling out.
