Hermès Cape Cod in Titanium
Hermès has introduced a new iteration of its Cape Cod watch, crafted from Grade 5 titanium. This version marks a departure from the collection's traditionally polished and often feminine aesthetic, presenting a sportier, more masculine character with a brushed and bead-blasted finish and a rubber strap. The watch retains the signature Chaîne d’Ancre-inspired shape, featuring a square dial within a rectangular frame.
- Grade 5 titanium case
- 100m water resistance
- Price: €6,150 / US$7,900 / £6,340
The case features a flattened front with a vertical satin-brush, while the sides and bead-blasted lugs remain rounded, and the case back is angular.
The dial is described as anthracite with vertical brushing and sandblasting, complementing the titanium case and making the orange central seconds hand stand out.
Applied Arabic numerals and baton hands are filled with lume, and these elements are also found on the date wheel.
The Hermès H1912 automatic movement is manufactured by Vaucher, runs at 28,800 vph, has 28 jewels, and features a decorated rotor and bridges visible through an exhibition case back.
The watch is available on black, blue, orange, or yellow rubber straps, each equipped with a titanium push-button folding clasp.
The design is inspired by the brand's Chaîne d’Ancre bracelet, a concept originating from Henri d’Origny in 1991.
The finishing on the case, with precise transitions between brushed and bead-blasted surfaces, and the dial, along with the sharp numerals, are noted as high-quality execution.
