The Arnos Opera Black draws direct design inspiration from the classic black-tie dress code, featuring a pure monochromatic aesthetic.
The watch's design incorporates a polished black onyx canvas and a crisp white lacquer center, aiming for a strong Art Deco aesthetic.
The stainless steel rectangular case maintains slim, elegant proportions, inspired by Fears’ 1920s and 30s heritage pieces.
Both the crystal and the solid caseback are gently curved to contour to the wrist for comfortable wear, especially on slender wrists.
The black onyx dial is polished to a deep mirror shine, providing an inky, dense black that anchors the stark white numerals.
Signature Fears pipette hands, solid and diamond-cut with a three-way mirror polish, are plated in black gold to catch the light.
The Sellita SW1000-1b movement was heavily modified by Fears, notably with the removal of the central seconds hand to preserve a clean, two-hand look.
A custom Fears Blue rotor, engraved with the brand’s historic flower-of-Bristol motif, is a hidden detail within the movement.
