Awake Sơn Mài – Frosted Leaf “Ultraviolet” Time+Tide Studio Edition
This collaboration between Time+Tide and Awake features a unique dial crafted using the traditional Vietnamese Sơn Mài lacquer technique. The "Frosted Leaf Ultraviolet" dial uses layers of purple and black lacquer over silver leaf to create a dynamic, shifting surface inspired by the atmosphere of influential music records. The watch aims to translate emotion and memory into a tangible material.

The dial is created using a centuries-old Vietnamese lacquer technique (Sơn Mài) involving hand engraving, silver leaf, and successive translucent layers of lacquer.
The dial's appearance shifts between near-black and vivid violet depending on the light, due to the interplay of lacquer, pigments, and underlying silver leaf.
Each dial is unique due to variations in lacquer application, silver leaf, and hand-finishing.
The 38mm case dimensions are described as having easy-wearing versatility, sitting between a dress watch and an everyday companion.
The thinner bezel compared to earlier Awake releases allows the dial more visual prominence.
The La Joux-Perret G101 calibre is noted as a strong alternative to Sellita and ETA movements.
The grey Alcantara strap features purple contrast stitching and curved quick-release spring bars, with an adjustable pin buckle for comfort.
The watch will be available at FounderFest from September 19, with a 24hr online window starting September 22, followed by availability at Time+Tide Studios.
