A. Lange & Söhne has introduced two new limited-edition 1815 Up/Down models, featuring a more compact 37.5mm case size. These new references come in white or pink gold with dark blue dials and contrasting silver subdials, offering a contemporary take on the classic design.
- Limited to 300 pieces each
- Approximately EUR 45,000 / On request price
- Available at Lange boutiques
The new 37.5mm case size is a return to smaller proportions, smaller than the current 39mm standard production models and reminiscent of earlier 35.9mm versions.
The blue dial features a metallic texture from the 925 silver base, with snailing visible under the printed scales of the power reserve and small seconds subdials.
The dial layout retains the pocket watch-inspired design of the 1815 collection, with a railroad minutes track and Arabic hour numerals.
The manually wound L051.2 caliber is finished with Glashütte striping, gold chatons, and blued screws.
The power reserve indicator features a red segment to indicate the final six hours of remaining power.
The movement's German silver plates are meticulously finished, and the caliber includes seven gold chatons and an engraved balance cock.
The dial layout is inspired by historical Lange pocket watches, with the up/down indicator at 8 o'clock and the running seconds at 4 o'clock.
The movement's construction, with the ratchet wheel, click, and spring atop the three-quarter plate, is noted as being more faithful to historical German pocket watch construction.
