M.A.D.Editions has launched the M.A.D.3, a new watch that reinterprets Vincent Calabrese's iconic Baladin wandering jump-hour complication. Designed by Eric Giroud, this third M.A.D.Editions model pays homage to Calabrese's innovative approach to time display while incorporating the brand's signature design elements and offering a more accessible entry point into independent watchmaking.

The M.A.D.3 pays tribute to Vincent Calabrese's Baladin watch, featuring a wandering jump-hour complication where a colored disc rotates to display the hour through an aperture, with an arrow on the disc indicating the minutes.
The design intentionally bears a strong resemblance to Calabrese's original Baladin, with a minutes track on the periphery and a rotating disc inside displaying the hour.
Modern touches include a sapphire minutes track coated with lume on the underside, lume on the hour numerals, and a chamfered aperture.
The case, designed by Eric Giroud, features the brand's signature floating lug design, inspired by the M.A.D.1, and a triple-step polished bezel reminiscent of some Baladin cases.
The La Joux-Perret G101 movement, also found in the M.A.D.1S and M.A.D.2, powers the watch, with a rotor displaying a quote in French that is fully revealed when spinning.
The wandering hours module was redeveloped by MB&F for large-scale production while preserving the spirit of Calabrese's original mechanism.
The M.A.D.3 features a progressive hour advancement over a few minutes, mimicking Calabrese's Baladin mechanism, rather than an instantaneous jump.
The blue dial variant is available to the public via raffle, while a pink dial model is reserved for 'The Tribe and Friends'.
