Basilia Jewellery & Watch Fair
The Basilia Jewellery & Watch Fair, scheduled for April 8-11, 2027, in Basel, aims to re-establish a major European meeting point for the jewellery industry, filling the void left by the defunct Baselworld. While watch-focused events continue in Geneva, Basilia seeks to provide a central international gathering for the jewellery sector, including manufacturers, wholesalers, and gemstone traders.
- Scheduled for April 8-11, 2027
- Organised by MCH Group and Informa Markets Asia
- Approximately 280 exhibitors registered
- Targeting over 400 exhibitors
- Around 70% of exhibitors are from the jewellery and gemstone sectors
- 30% of exhibitors are from the watchmaking industry
- Asian exhibitors represent approximately 65% of exhibition space
- European exhibitors represent around 35% of exhibition space
Basilia is organized by MCH Group, former operator of Baselworld, and Informa Markets Asia, leveraging Messe Basel's infrastructure.
The fair aims to primarily re-establish a major annual European meeting point for the jewellery industry, rather than recreate Baselworld.
As of three months after its announcement, approximately 280 exhibitors have registered for the inaugural edition.
The organizers are targeting more than 400 exhibitors, with the current registration representing 70% of that goal.
Around 70% of confirmed exhibitors are in the jewellery and gemstone sectors, with the remaining 30% from the watchmaking industry.
Asian exhibitors currently account for approximately 65% of the exhibition space, with European exhibitors making up about 35%.
The significance of the watchmaking component is difficult to assess as no specific watch exhibitors have been disclosed.
Basilia does not appear to be positioned as a direct competitor to Watches and Wonders Geneva.
