Micromilspec Fieldmaster
Micromilspec has introduced the Fieldmaster, a new wristwatch developed from a three-year military field testing program involving 30 service personnel. The program aimed to update field watch design principles from the 1940s for modern military requirements, focusing on legibility, wearability, and enhanced anti-magnetic properties. The Fieldmaster incorporates these findings into its design and movement choice.
- 40mm titanium case
- 11.2mm thickness
- 200m water resistance
- 100-hour power reserve
- Limited annual batches of 75 pieces
The Fieldmaster's design prioritizes legibility with enlarged hands, square hour markers, a small seconds subdial, and a date window, all utilizing Lumicast for low-light readability.
A small seconds subdial was chosen over a sweeping center seconds hand to prevent momentary legibility issues when the seconds hand crosses hour or minute indications.
The watch features a smooth, fixed bezel designed to deflect blows and a flat, smooth case body to prevent snagging.
The titanium case is available in natural titanium finishing or with a gunpowder DLC coating.
The Horage K3 movement, featuring a silicon escapement and hairspring for anti-magnetic properties, is used, marking its first appearance in a non-Horage watch.
The 100-hour power reserve was found to be ideal for active service personnel, ensuring the watch maintains accuracy without frequent resetting.
Pricing is €2,755 on a rubber strap and €3,400 on a titanium bracelet, for both titanium grey and DLC editions.
