Seiko Prospex Speedtimer Mechanical Collection Adds Four New References
Seiko has expanded its Prospex Speedtimer collection with four new models, including two mechanical chronographs and two time-only watches. These additions feature lighter dial colors and design elements inspired by early 1970s Speedtimer chronographs and motorsport aesthetics. The collection now offers a broader range of sports watches, building on the success of previous Speedtimer releases.

The mechanical chronographs (HBD001, HBD002) share architecture with the SRQ047 and SRQ049 released in 2023, featuring a 42mm case with a brushed finish, polished bezel, and bevels, inspired by early 1970s Speedtimer chronographs.
The HBD001 features a light blue dial with black sub-dials and a white minute track, while the HBD002 has a light gray dial with contrasting light blue and gray sub-dials.
The time-only models (HBC003, HBC004) have a 39.5mm case and feature an internal rotating bezel with a 60-minute countdown scale, controlled by a secondary crown.
The HBC003 is presented with a light blue dial on a stainless steel bracelet, and the HBC004 features a dark grey dial with orange accents on a leather strap.
The chronographs utilize the 8R48 caliber, a 34-jewel automatic movement running at 28,800 vph with a 45-hour power reserve, featuring a column wheel and vertical clutch.
The time-only models are powered by the 6R55 caliber, an automatic movement with 72 hours of power reserve, running at 21,600 vph.
The chronographs have a tachymeter scale on the rehaut, and the sub-dials are designed to differentiate chronograph functions from regular timekeeping.
