Hamilton has introduced the American Classic Cushion Collection, featuring six new models that expand the brand's dressier, Art Deco offerings. This collection debuts the new H-42 manually-wound movement, designed to enable the revival of smaller, classic watch designs from Hamilton's archives, inspired by 1926 Cushion watches.
- Available in 30mm and 34mm case sizes
- 8.1mm case thickness
- 50-meter water resistance
- Prices range from US$995 to US$1,095
The collection is inspired by Hamilton's 1926 Cushion watches, with some models featuring engraving on the case and bezel as a nod to historical engraved versions.
The 30mm models are available with a sandblasted beige dial with Arabic numerals (steel and gold-toned steel) or a white enamel dial with Roman numerals.
The 34mm models include a gold-toned version with a sandblasted beige dial and Arabic numerals, a black glossy lacquer dial with Arabic numerals, and a silver sunburst dial with Arabic numerals in an engraved case.
Arabic numeral dials feature lume on hands and markers, while the Roman numeral dial only has lume on the hands.
All watches feature cathedral-style hour and minute hands and a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o'clock.
Straps are leather with quick-release tabs and case-matching pin buckles; lug widths are 16mm for the 30mm size and 18mm for the 34mm size.
The development of the H-42 movement was driven by customer inquiries for smaller, mechanically-driven vintage-style pieces, particularly in the wake of the film 'Oppenheimer'.
