The Purist Typ 1 features stick hour markers, while the Typ 2 uses Arabic numerals, with an exception at 12 o'clock on the Typ 2 showing a graphical representation of the DUG logo.

The dials have a grainy texture, applied hour indexes, and an applied DUG logo at 12 o'clock. The date aperture, if present, is unframed with a sloped edge and a black date disc.

The 40mm case has a polished top, brushed satin flanks, and chamfered lugs. The bezel is domed and polished.

The DUG 400 movement is decorated with hand-applied Glashütte perlage, rhodium-plated bridges, blued screws, and a 24K gold-plated rotor.

The stainless steel bracelet has a design described as between a Patek Philippe Nautilus and an IWC Ingenieur, with a mostly satin finish and polished center links.

The Typ 2 model reviewed had a gray dial and no date complication, utilizing the same DUG 400 movement without an unused 'ghost date' crown position.

DUG attributes its attractive pricing to direct-to-consumer sales, avoiding a distributor network.
