The White Meridian is built upon Apiar's Gen 1.1 platform, which evolved from the brand's Gen 1.0 line and was first shown at British Watchmaker's Day.
The case is constructed using additive manufacturing, essentially 'printing' the watch layer by layer from CAD models.
The design concept for the White Meridian originated from Apiar co-founder Matt Oosthuizen's desire to create a timepiece for his wedding, focusing on the emotional connections people have with watches marking milestones.
Previous limited editions on the Gen 1.1 platform include the 'Underground' and 'Night Tube' editions, inspired by London Underground map designs, and the 'Gen 1.1 MR²,' a collaboration with Time + Tide.
