Czapek Promenade L’Ecume des Jours
Czapek has unveiled the Promenade L’Ecume des Jours, a new time-only dress watch that pays tribute to Boris Vian's surrealist novel "L'Écume des Jours" (Froth on the Daydream). This limited edition features a Grand Feu enamel dial with artistic interpretations of motifs from the novel, including a 'pianocktail' keyboard and a water lily representing the protagonist's illness.
- Limited to 18 pieces
- Price: CHF 28,600 / EUR 28,800 / USD 37,700
- 38mm stainless steel case
- 60-hour power reserve
- 50m water resistance
The dial features Czapek's signature Goutte d’Eau (waterdrop) design in blue Grand Feu enamel, with ripples radiating from the small seconds sub-dial.
The small seconds display is designed as a water lily on a jade leaf base, with a hand-painted titanium lily flower indicating the seconds.
A peripheral ring of mother-of-pearl and hand-painted black keys suggests a piano keyboard, referencing the 'pianocktail' from the novel.
The 38mm steel case has a polished finish with sandblasted recessed flanks and a domed sapphire crystal.
The in-house SXH5.1 automatic movement is visible through a sapphire caseback and features a platinum micro-rotor and seven skeletonised bridges.
The watch is available with a dark blue nubuck strap or can be ordered with a steel Milanese mesh bracelet.
