Formex Aria
Formex owner Raphael Granito discusses the brand's ambitious new Aria model, which marks a significant departure from their previous offerings by prioritizing an advanced in-house movement. The Aria is built around Horage's K2 micro-rotor caliber, a first for any brand outside of Horage, allowing for an exceptionally slim case design and showcasing Formex's engineering prowess at a higher price point.

The Aria is Formex's most ambitious project, featuring a new, high-spec, in-house movement developed in collaboration with Horage.
The Horage K2 movement, dubbed FX01 by Formex, boasts a full silicon escapement, LIGA components, and COSC certification, all within a 2.9mm thin package.
Formex has finished the FX01 movement with bridges in galvanized black gold, brushed surfaces, hand-beveled edges, and laser-precise cut-outs for a sleeker aesthetic.
The slim movement enabled an extremely thin 6.9mm case, while maintaining Formex's signature architectural dial depth.
The case design features smooth, pebble-like curves flowing from the bezel to the bracelet, contrasting with Formex's more rigidly machined lines.
The bracelet design echoes Moser Streamliner with shifting brushed links and polished intercostal bevels, showcasing Dexel's expertise.
The dial features a sunburst engraved small seconds subdial at six o'clock and is available in blue, green, and grey.
The FX01 calibre costs Formex approximately eight times more than the movements used in their Essence collection, justifying the Aria's significantly higher price point.
