Métiers d’Art Tribute to Great Civilisations Collection
Vacheron Constantin's Métiers d’Art Tribute to Great Civilisations collection, a new four-piece series, pays homage to ancient cultures through intricate dial artistry. This second chapter, building on a 2019 partnership with the Louvre Museum, features miniature representations of monumental art from Pharaonic Egypt, the Assyrian Empire, Ancient Greece, and Imperial Rome, crafted using stone glyptic techniques.

The collection's second chapter, featuring Buste d’Akhénaton, Lamassu de Sargon II, Athéna de Velletri, and Tibre de l’Iseum Campense, utilizes stone glyptic work on marble and limestone sandstone, a first for Vacheron Constantin.
Each dial's central applique is made from stone sourced from the same types and origins as the original artworks, with hand-patination.
The dials combine various artistic crafts, including champlevé-set stones, miniature painting, stone marquetry, and engraving with gold thread.
The Buste d’Akhénaton features a cartouche engraved on matching sandstone next to the pharaoh's face.
The Lamassu de Sargon II dial incorporates a feather motif using champlevé-set stones and translucent red enamel, alongside a limestone sandstone applique.
The Athéna de Velletri dial uses Paros marble for its central applique, with a background of onyx and mookaite stone marquetry and black champlevé enamel.
The Tibre de l’Iseum Campense dial includes a micro-mosaic of five stones and an engraved mother-of-pearl frieze, alongside a hand-patinated Paros marble applique.
The previous 2022 collection featured sculpted gold relief appliques of the Great Sphinx of Tanis, the Lion of Darius, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, and a bust of Augustus.
