This review examines the Petermann Bedat 1825 Souscription Series, an initial private offering of 10 pieces designed to help fund tooling for series production. The Souscription Series case is made of high polished tantalum, which appears silvery and less dark than typical tantalum watches, and is manufactured by Efteor.
The dial is black grand feu enamel, considered the most difficult to produce, and will only appear on these 10 Souscription pieces.
Indices on the Souscription dial are baguette diamonds held by a u-shaped gold frame, contrasting with the gold indices on the regular series.
The movement is the same as offered in the regular series, featuring sensuously laid out bridges with numerous sharp angles and polished chamfers.
The balance cock features a swan neck fine regulation system set against maillechort bridges with high gloss anglage.
The watch has a substantial heft due to the tantalum case, but wears perfectly at 38mm on an 180mm wrist.
