Solar Orbiter Watch Winder
To celebrate 15 years of MB&F's M.A.D.Gallery, British designer Martin Smith has created the Solar Orbiter, a limited-edition watch winder. This sculptural piece, standing 60cm tall, is inspired by pop art and kinetic toys, featuring over 300 handmade parts and a spinning arm that holds a watch to keep it wound.

The Solar Orbiter watch winder is a kinetic sculpture inspired by pop art, toys, and Eames' Solar Do-Nothing Machine.
It stands 60cm tall and spans 40cm in width and depth, constructed from powder-coated steel, aluminum, brass, and wood, with integrated electronics.
The design incorporates over 300 handmade parts and features a spinning arm designed to hold and wind a watch.
Each of the 10 numbered pieces comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Martin Smith and is shipped in a bespoke wooden crate.
The winder operates silently, allowing for continuous operation without auditory disturbance.
