The brief

Wren has collaborated with Ben's Watches again to release the Diver One Obsidian, a stealthy take on their dive watch featuring a black DLC-coated steel case and bracelet, paired with a vibrant orange fumé dial. This limited edition builds on the success of the previous Magma collaboration, offering a darker aesthetic while retaining the original's practical proportions and reliable Sellita SW200 movement.

The watch features a full black DLC steel case and bracelet, contrasting with a molten orange fumé dial that transitions to deep brown/black at the edges.

Its proportions are described as purposeful tool-like, measuring 41mm across, 47mm lug-to-lug, and 13.3mm thick, fitting within the modern sweet spot for an everyday dive watch.

The black bezel complements the DLC-coated case, contributing to a darker overall character.

The dial's colour palette was inspired by cooling lava, and the black lume glows with a coal-like effect.

The Sellita SW200 automatic movement operates at 4Hz, includes hacking seconds and quickset date, and prioritizes reliability and ease of servicing.

Time+Tide

It comes with both a matching black DLC-coated bracelet and a fitted orange FKM rubber strap.

The first batch of 100 pieces will be available in stages, with some offered in person at the Windup Watch Fair in Chicago and at the Time+Tide Watch Discovery Studio in New York City.
