Sellita SW200-1

Also known as: Sellita SW200, Caliber SW200-1
Quick answer

The Sellita SW200-1 is a Swiss automatic movement designed as a drop-in replacement for the ETA 2824-2. It powers most independent Swiss brands.

The Sellita SW200-1 is a Swiss-made automatic mechanical movement produced by Sellita SA. It was originally designed under license as an assembly clone of the ETA 2824-2 and is now sold as a fully-independent caliber — pin-for-pin compatible so brands could swap from ETA to Sellita without redesigning their watches.

Specifications: 26 jewels (one more than the 2824-2), 28,800 vph (4 Hz), ~38-hour power reserve (newer SW200-1 b versions extend this to 41 hours), hacking, manual winding, day/date complication. Diameter 25.6 mm, height 4.6 mm.

Sellita became the de-facto Swiss workhorse caliber after ETA restricted sales of the 2824-2 to Swatch Group brands in 2019. Today the SW200-1 powers an enormous portion of mid-range Swiss watches from brands like Oris, Christopher Ward, Squale, Steinhart, Mido, Tissot, and dozens of microbrands.
