The brief

Across the sources

The collaboration involves hand-painting eight visible movement components with graffiti-inspired art, a first for The Dial Artist.

Time+Tide

Each of the 1,300 painted components across the 150 watches is unique, with abstract patterns never repeating.

Time+Tide

The artwork is applied to the movement's bridges and architecture, visible from both the front and the exhibition caseback.

Time+Tide

The CW-001 calibre is chronometer-certified and features a twin-barrel construction.

Time+Tide

The Dial Artist's work is described as expressive, showcasing bold, vivid colours and patterns meant to look chaotic and fast.

Time+Tide

The watch is built upon the Twelve X platform, with the name 'Xander' being a play on the artist's name, Chris Alexander.

Time+Tide

The project involved approximately 900 hours of work across 1,300 hand-painted movement components.

Worn & Wound

The painted movement components are functional, requiring careful consideration of paint thickness to maintain the calibre's performance.
