Patek Philippe has introduced the Cubitus Perpetual Calendar Skeleton Ref. 5840P-001, a grand complication that builds upon the Cubitus collection's distinctive case architecture. This new model features a skeletonized perpetual calendar movement specifically developed to fit the square case, moving away from the round movements found in earlier Cubitus references and further differentiating it from the Nautilus design.

The Cubitus collection's mission is to offer a new reinterpretation of the 'elegant, sporty' style with a case that blends square, circle, and octagon shapes.
The ref. 5840P-001 features a horizontally open-worked dial with laser-cut strips finished with a blue PVD treatment and horizontal brushing, providing contrast to the skeletonized movement.
The case is constructed in two parts with lateral lugs, featuring alternating polished and vertically satin-brushed surfaces, and a baguette-cut diamond at 6 o'clock indicates it is platinum.
The movement, caliber 28-28 Q SQU, is shaped to suit the watch's geometry, making the most of the available space and emphasizing the collection's linear design language.
The watch includes applied white-gold hour markers and baton hands filled with luminescent material for time display, and additional slender white-gold hands for calendar functions.
The strap is a navy-blue composite with a textile pattern and contrasting cream stitching, paired with a platinum fold-over clasp.
