Métiers d’Art Tribute To Great Civilisations II
Vacheron Constantin has unveiled the second collection in its Métiers d’Art Tribute To Great Civilisations series, featuring four watches inspired by ancient artifacts from the Louvre Museum. Each timepiece showcases miniature replicas of statues, rendered with intricate decorative techniques like enameling and stone mosaic, evoking civilizations from Assyria to the Roman Empire.

The collection comprises four watches: Buste d’Akhénaton (Ancient Egypt), Lamassu de Sargon II (Assyria), Athéna de Velletrie (Ancient Greece/Rome), and Tiber de l’Iseum Campense (Roman Empire).
Each watch features a miniature replica of a statue from the Louvre, surrounded by decoration using techniques such as enameling and stone mosaic.
The miniature elements on the dial replicate the look and feel of monumental ancient statues, conveying depth despite their thinness.
The Lamassu de Sargon II depicts a mythical creature from Mesopotamian cultures, with the appliqué in engraved and aged limestone on a dial base of stone marquetry and flinque enamel.
Athéna de Velletrie features a marble appliqué crafted from Parian marble, engraved and patinated to resemble the original Roman statue, set on an enamel dial with stone marquetry.
This second collection is entirely figurative, offering a more decorative feel compared to the 2022 edition which featured ancient script.
The watches are powered by Vacheron Constantin’s Cal. 2460 G4/2 movement, often used in Métiers d’Art watches requiring significant dial real estate.
