IWC is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Gérald Genta-designed Ingenieur SL with two limited-edition models: the Ingenieur Automatic 40 and Ingenieur Automatic 35. These watches pay homage to the original 1976 design, featuring a distinctive brushed silver-plated dial inspired by a rare variant, and retain the iconic bezel secured by five screws.

The '50' anniversary marking replaces the usual lightning-bolt element in the Ingenieur logo at 12 o'clock.
The 40mm bracelet is fully satin-finished, while the 35mm version includes polished center links for a more refined appearance.
The 35mm model's Caliber 47110 is visible through a sapphire display caseback, showcasing circular graining, Geneva stripes, and a gold-plated oscillating weight.
The date window on the 40mm model partially cuts into the 3 o'clock marker, whereas on the 35mm model, it removes the marker entirely.
