Greubel Forsey Balancier QM
Greubel Forsey has introduced the Balancier QM, the first watch to bear their new "Qualité Musée" standard for hand finishing. This flagship hand-wound model features a skeletonized dial displaying hours, minutes, small seconds, and a power reserve, all housed within a relatively compact white gold case.
- Limited edition of 30 pieces
- 18k white gold case
- 30m water resistance
The "Qualité Musée" standard represents a new benchmark for hand finishing, intended to make the watch suitable for museum display.
The watch features a completely skeletonized dial, with only vestigial chapter rings for minute markers and subsidiary seconds, and a power reserve arc.
The movement architecture is described as complex, with visible twin coaxial barrels that complete one revolution in 3.2 hours.
Finishing details include hand-polished bevels, circular graining, frosted surfaces, black polished screws, and polished gold chatons for jewels.
The cock holding the balance wheel is made of stainless steel and undergoes seven different hand-finishing techniques.
Both the balance wheel and hairspring are made in-house by Greubel Forsey.
The case measures 39.6mm in diameter and 9.45mm in height (12.25mm at the highest point of the box sapphire crystal), considered a wise and contemporary size.
