Straum Expedition
Norwegian brand Straum introduces the Expedition, its first dedicated tool watch, marking a new "Built For" collection alongside its "Inspired By" series. The watch features a redesigned titanium case and dial focused on practicality, legibility, and durability for outdoor use.
- Limited to 200 pieces (Midnight Blue Launch Edition)
- Price: £1,840 / €2,100 / $2,750 on rubber strap
- Price: £2,070 / €2,360 / $3,100 on titanium bracelet
- Availability: Pre-order open, deliveries expected March 2027
The case diameter is reduced to 38.2mm from the Jan Mayen's 38.7mm, combined with a redesigned stepped bezel to deflect blows and reduce scratchable surface area.
The crown is enlarged for easier manipulation with cold hands or gloves, and titanium is used for its lighter weight, lower thermal expansion, and slower heat transmission.
The dial features a peripheral 60-minute scale, oversized hour markers with Arabic numerals at 12/3/6/9, and a 24-hour sub-scale, with a date window above 6 o'clock.
Three dial colorways are available: Titanium gray, White Lume (fully luminous), and Midnight Blue (limited edition).
The La Joux-Perret G100 calibre is an automatic movement with a 68-hour power reserve, also used in the Jan Mayen model.
The watch has a bead-blasted finish and drilled lug holes, with the case flowing into an integrated rubber bracelet or an optional titanium bracelet.
The bezel has a stepped design, and the oversized screw-down crown is knurled for grip.
Dial variations include grainy titanium bases with white Super-LumiNova indexes, or a fully luminous white dial with black PVD markers.
