Armin Strom Orbit Midnight Purple
Armin Strom has released a new "Midnight Purple" edition of its Orbit sports watch, featuring a unique on-demand date complication. This iteration updates the 2022 model with a striking purple theme that extends to the dial, mainplate, and date hand, offering a bold aesthetic for watch enthusiasts.
- Limited to 20 pieces worldwide
- Price: CHF 36,000
The Orbit's date complication is relocated to the bezel and features an on/off function activated by a pusher at 10 o'clock, with a retrograde motion to return the hand to its resting position at noon.
The Midnight Purple color is inspired by a shade developed by founder Armin Strom and is featured on the off-centred sub-dial, the frosted mainplate, and the tip of the date hand.
The watch showcases exposed mechanical components on the dial, including the column wheel, micro-rotor, and equal force barrel with a power reserve indicator.
The bezel is fixed, made of black high-tech ceramic, and engraved with numbers 1-31 and a purple "Date" inscription.
The stainless steel case features vertical brushing and polished bevels, with sharp guards flanking the crown, though the crown is not screw-down.
The integrated stainless steel bracelet has an H-link design and a double-folding clasp.
The movement is based on the Gravity Equal Force calibre, featuring a patented equal force barrel for consistent power delivery and a mechanical memory wheel to track the date when the function is off.
