Panerai Luminor PAM01710, PAM01711, and PAM01714
Panerai has introduced three new 42mm Luminor models, the PAM01710, PAM01711, and PAM01714, marking the first time a fully capable Luminor is offered in this smaller size. These watches draw inspiration from the 1993 Luminor references and feature enhanced water resistance compared to previous smaller models, aiming to appeal to those who desire a Panerai tool watch but find the larger cases too imposing.

The new 42mm Luminor references are inspired by the first two publicly available Luminor models from 1993, the ref. 5218-201/A and ref. 5218-202/A.
The PAM01710 features a stainless steel case with a black dial, the PAM01711 has a stainless steel case with a green dial, and the PAM01714 combines a black DLC-coated stainless steel case with a blue dial.
These models do not feature the signature sandwich dial, instead using printed Super-LumiNova numerals and markers on an ivory or beige base.
The P.980 caliber is a 23-jewel automatic movement with 177 parts, operating at 28,800 vph and offering a three-day power reserve.
The watches are equipped with a solid caseback, a departure from the display caseback on the 44mm version.
The canvas straps feature an oversized trapezoidal buckle that matches the case material and treatment.
The 42mm case size and price point are positioned as an attractive entry-level option for those previously deterred by Panerai's larger watches.
