Moritz Grossmann Hamatic Enamel
Moritz Grossmann has introduced two new references of its Hamatic watch, celebrating the 200th anniversary of founder Carl Moritz Grossmann. These models feature striking jet black enamel dials and are housed in 41mm rose gold or white gold cases, paying tribute to the founder's birth year.
- Limited to 8 pieces in each metal
- Price: EUR 63,500 (excl. tax)
The watch is powered by the in-house Calibre 106.0, featuring a unique pendulum-style hammer weight inspired by early perpetual winding systems.
The black enamel dial is achieved through a multi-stage firing process of ground glass mixed with metal oxides, resulting in lustre, depth, and durability.
Arabic numerals in applied white or rose gold replace Roman numerals found on earlier Hamatic models, with the M. Grossmann signature emulating 1875 typeface.
The reverse side showcases the openworked hammer rotor, revealing the movement's Saxon German silver 2/3 plate, Glashütte ribbing, gold chatons, violet-annealed screws, and a hand-engraved cantilevered balance cock bearing the year '1826'.
The movement operates at 21,600 vph and includes a Grossmann balance with inertia and poising screws.
The 41mm gold cases are 11.35mm thick and feature the brand's signature conical crown.
Both versions are paired with hand-stitched alligator leather straps and gold prong buckles.
