Maison Alcée x MB&F Nostromo
MB&F and Maison Alcée have collaborated on the Nostromo, a build-it-yourself mechanical desk clock kit celebrating the 15th anniversary of MB&F's M.A.D. Gallery. Designed by MB&F's Maximilian Maertens and crafted by Maison Alcée, the Nostromo is inspired by the spaceship from the film 'Alien' and features an extraterrestrial aesthetic with three spidery legs.
- Limited to 50 pieces
- Price: CHF 12,000 (excl. VAT)
- 14-day power reserve
- Assembly time: approximately 10 hours
The Nostromo is named after the spaceship from Ridley Scott's 1979 film 'Alien' and draws inspiration from H.R. Giger's designs.
The clock is designed to be assembled by the owner, with only the regulating organ pre-assembled, and comes with a 250-page instruction manual and video content via QR codes.
The horizontally arranged movement features hours and minutes on a central peacock blue ring, with running seconds at 3 o'clock and an on-demand hour chime.
The completed clock measures 160mm in length, 134mm in width, and 123mm in height, weighing 760 grams.
The design features three organic-looking legs and a dial that can be rotated on its feet for adjusting the viewing angle.
The dial is in the M.A.D. Gallery's signature peacock blue, with reworked black hands for contrast.
The clock is based on Maison Alcée's Persée kit but is turned on its side and features an upward-angled time display.
The Nostromo combines Maison Alcée’s hands-on approach with MB&F’s extraterrestrial design language.
