Bulova Military VWI Special Edition
The Bulova Military VWI Special Edition is a chronograph designed to evoke 1940s military field watches, with 10% of its sales proceeds donated to the Veterans Watchmaker Initiative (VWI). The VWI, a non-profit organization, provides free watchmaking training to US military veterans, mirroring a post-WWII Bulova program.
- 42.5mm stainless steel case
- 30-meter water resistance
- 10% of sales proceeds donated to VWI
The cushion-shaped case is predominantly brushed with mirror-polished accents on the bezel, crown, and pushers, designed to evoke military field chronographs from the 1940s.
The olive green dial features a railroad-style minutes track, Arabic hour numerals, and a tri-compax chronograph layout with a 1/20th of a second counter at 3 o'clock, a 60-minute counter at 9 o'clock, and small seconds with a date complication at 6 o'clock.
The 1/20th of a second counter is a unique feature that races to indicate the fraction of a second when the chronograph is stopped.
The high-precision quartz movement operates at 262 kHz, offering accuracy within seconds per year, and features a custom engraving on the caseback honoring the Bulova and VWI partnership.
The brown leather strap has subtle padding and white stitching, with quick-release tabs for easy strap changes.
