This limited edition timepiece features a proprietary jumping-hour module with a fully lumed display, made possible by a sapphire hood that allows light to reach the internal architecture. The OSII Black features a proprietary jumping-hour module with a fully lumed display, a first for the Digitrend collection, enabled by a full sapphire hood.
The movement has been updated to the Soprod Newton 024, a change from the Soprod Newton 092 used in previous versions, with the reviewer noting curiosity about the differences as the 024 is described as a clone of the ETA 2824-2.
The design incorporates a new black PVD coated 316L steel internal framework, visible through the sapphire hood, which replaces hidden utilitarian parts with a sculpted form.
The BGW9 Super-LumiNova is applied to indices and framework accents, creating a 'Nocturnal Form' that remains faithful to the design language in the dark.
The sapphire hood is machined from a single block and acts as a transparent shield, allowing light to flood the internal architecture.
The watch is described as an evolution of the OSII concept from 1976, aiming to bridge past mid-century design audacity with future aspirations.
