Piaget Andy Warhol ‘Camouflage’
Piaget has reinterpreted Andy Warhol's late 'Camouflage' self-portraits with a new watch featuring a dial made from 27 pieces of sodalite, turquoise, and gold marquetry. This piece showcases Piaget's expertise in ornamental stones, translating Warhol's printed motif into a painstaking stone marquetry composition.
- Limited to 86 pieces
- Price: unknown
The dial is assembled from 27 individual pieces of sodalite, turquoise, and gold, with brushed yellow gold and polished rose gold inlays.
The camouflage motif is derived from actual military camouflage fabric Warhol's assistant purchased, which Warhol then used in his late self-portraits.
The watch is housed in a 45mm cushion-shaped case in 18k white gold, previously known as the Black Tie Vintage.
The case wears smaller than its 45mm measurement suggests due to seamlessly integrated lugs and a short lug-to-lug length.
The automatic cal. 501P1 movement preserves the slim profile but is described as unremarkable, concealed behind a solid case back.
The watch is based on the ref. 15102, a model Andy Warhol was known to collect.
