PS Horology Tsuba 1720
PS Horology has introduced the Tsuba 1720, a new release in its Tsuba collection that draws inspiration from an 18th-century pocket watch by English watchmaker George Graham. This collaboration between Peter Speake and Farhana Safa reinterprets Graham's historic dial design for a contemporary audience, featuring a hand-finished gold dial with Roman numerals and a redesigned handset to accommodate the repositioned chapter rings.
- Limited to 28 pieces
- Price: CHF 26,000 (excluding taxes and shipping)
- Deliveries expected February 2027
The Tsuba 1720's design is inspired by a George Graham pair-case pocket watch from 1719-20, noted for its gold champlevé dial, double chapter rings, Roman numerals, and specific handset.
The watch retains the Tsuba collection's scalloped cushion-shaped case, measuring 38.3mm wide and 8.91mm thick, crafted from 316L stainless steel with brushed and polished finishes.
The 18k gold dial features a contemporary interpretation of Graham's original champlevé enamel, achieved through laser engraving, ceramic lacquering, and polishing, with Roman numerals hand-lacquered.
A key design change from the original inspiration is the placement of the chapter rings, with hours on the outside and minutes on the inside, necessitating a redesigned handset.
The hour hand is a modified 'beetle' hand with an extended needle, while the minute hand is a 'poker' hand with a shelf to follow the inner minutes scale.
Unlike previous Tsuba models, the Tsuba 1720 omits a running seconds subdial.
The Vaucher Manufacture calibre 5401 micro-rotor movement is 2.6mm thick, features a blued tungsten micro-rotor on a ceramic ball race, and has a free-sprung balance oscillating at 21,600 vph.
The integrated stainless steel bracelet includes articulated first links, a concealed link-adjustment system, and a butterfly deployant clasp with a push-button release.
