RGM 501-PC Perpetual Calendar
RGM has launched the 501-PC, its first perpetual calendar since the 1990s. This new model features a Dubois-Depraz module atop an ETA 2892 base movement, with RGM-modified bridges and a solid gold rotor for enhanced visual appeal. The design draws inspiration from 19th-century pocket watches, presenting a traditional aesthetic with a white enamel dial, Roman numerals, and blued hands.
- Price: $39,900
- 39mm stainless steel case
- 11.5mm thick case
- ETA 2892 base movement with Dubois-Depraz module
- White enamel dial
The perpetual calendar layout includes subdials at 12:00 (months and leap year), 3:00 (date), 6:00 (moonphase), and 9:00 (day of the week).
The dial design is inspired by 19th-century pocket watches, featuring black painted Roman numerals and blued hands.
The case features vertical brushing on the sides with alternating polished elements, and lugs described as 'a bit on the long side'.
RGM modified the movement by replacing the automatic bridges and winding rotor with components that have a smaller rotor-bearing diameter and adding a solid gold rotor.
The use of a module on a mass-produced movement helps to manage costs compared to a fully in-house design.
