The "rose-gilt" dial, officially described as "opaline rose-gilt," has a pinkish hue on a brass base and a smooth, finely grained surface.
Hour hands and applied elements are 18k white gold coated black, with a railway minute track and restyled dauphine hands.
The watch features a hinged case back, an unusual feature for its price point, which is well-integrated but has four visible screws when opened.
The movement, Cal. 26-330 S C, is an evolution of the Cal. 324 S C, featuring a silicon hairspring and improved winding mechanism.
The case design, including elegantly concave lugs, is unchanged from the original 2013 ref. 5227, maintaining its thin and flat profile on the wrist.
The date window features a white disc framed in blackened gold, a detail the reviewer felt could have been improved with a tone-on-tone disc or omitted entirely.
