Omega Speedmaster 38mm Collection Refreshed
Omega has refreshed its Speedmaster 38mm collection with seven new models, aiming to bring the smaller-sized chronographs closer to the aesthetic of the iconic Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch. This update sees the return of round subdials, a broader bezel insert with the "dot over ninety" detail, and a cleaner dial layout, particularly on the new black dial, no-date variant which is seen as a spiritual successor to the Speedmaster Reduced.

The new black dial variant, specifically reference 324.30.38.50.01.002, is presented as a direct successor to the beloved Speedmaster Reduced, featuring a matte black dial, stepped chronograph counters, and no date window.
The updated collection replaces oval subdials with conventional round registers and features a broader bezel insert with the classic "dot over ninety" tachymeter numbering, mirroring the Speedmaster Professional.
The Speedmaster Reduced, originally launched in 1988, was a 39mm automatic model that was later updated to 38mm in 2010 with a different movement and a more feminine approach before the 2017 update introduced oval subdials.
The case dimensions remain 38mm in diameter, 14.75mm thick, and 44.96mm lug-to-lug, a proportion that some enthusiasts find thick for the case size.
The five-link bracelet is styled after the Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch bracelet and includes Omega's "comfort release" micro-adjust system.
While the movements are COSC-certified chronometers and feature the Co-Axial escapement and silicon hairsprings, they are housed behind solid casebacks.
