Piaget has revived its ultra-thin, micro-rotor minute repeater calibre, the 1209P, in the modern Polo case. This new iteration features a striking blue, partially open-worked guilloché dial, offering a balance between revealing the movement and maintaining legibility. While the watch shares its movement with the 2013 Emperador Coussin, which was once the world's thinnest minute repeater, it is no longer the record holder.

The new Polo Minute Repeater shares its ultra-thin, micro-rotor calibre 1209P with the 2013 Emperador Coussin, which was once the world's thinnest minute repeater.
The watch features a striking blue, partially open-worked guilloché dial crafted from solid 18k gold.
The calibre 1209P, at 4.8 mm thick, achieved its thinness by spreading components across two slim planes, contributing to the 48 mm case size.
The minute repeater tones reach 64 db, noted as fractionally louder than most top-class minute repeaters.
A gem-set version, the Polo Emperador Minute Repeater, is embellished with baguette-cut sapphires and brilliant-cut diamonds, with gem setting taking 70 hours.
The movement's curb-pin regulator and 3 Hz balance are considered dated by contemporary standards.
