Grand Seiko has introduced the SBGY045, a limited edition watch exclusively for GS9 Club members, featuring a unique minatonezu dial inspired by Edo-period Japanese color palettes. This model shares its case and movement with the popular SBGY007 "Omiwatari" but offers a distinct aesthetic and a special gold-tone detail voted on by club members.
- Limited to 600 pieces
- Exclusive to GS9 Club members
- Price: €9,500
- Available February 2027
The SBGY045 is the first globally released limited edition created exclusively for GS9 Club members.
The minatonezu dial color traces back to the Edo period's "48 browns, 100 grays" palette, a subtle rebellion against color restrictions.
A gold-tone Arabic numeral "9" and applied dot are exclusive nods to the GS9 Club, voted in by its members.
The case design is inspired by the soft curvature of a wind-filled sail, focusing on flowing lines.
The case features manual Zaratsu mirror polishing on top surfaces, contrasting with satin-brushed sides and a slim polished bevel on the lugs.
The manual-wind Spring Drive caliber 9R31 is visible through an exhibition case back and features hairline brushing, diamond-cut bevels, and heat-blued screws.
The watch includes two 19mm calfskin straps, one chocolate brown and one light gray, both with a stainless steel folding clasp.
