The 70th Anniversary edition is a faithful reproduction of a 1968 Bathyscaphe model, chosen for its balanced proportions, functionality, and understated elegance.
The case features a slender mid-case profile, symmetrical straight lugs with facets, and a polished steel construction, emulating the 1968 Bathyscaphe.
The unidirectional steel bezel has a black ceramic insert with lacquered numerals, replacing the original black hesalite.
The dial features a sunray-brushed meteor grey base, a mid-20th-century Blancpain logo, sharp baton hands, and applied hour markers filled with vintage-coloured Super-LumiNova.
The movement is Blancpain's in-house Calibre 1150, an automatic with two barrels, a 100-hour power reserve, and a silicon hairspring for antimagnetic properties.
The watch is presented on a chocolate brown leather strap with a steel pin buckle and comes in a Peli case.
The 37.4mm case size, 12.3mm thickness, and 46.5mm lug-to-lug are designed to provide a retro feel and comfortable wearability.
The bezel is a 120-click unidirectional type with a black ceramic insert and lacquered numerals, and the crown is knurled and appropriately sized.
