Blancpain has updated its Villeret Ultraplate line with a new 38mm case size, aiming for a more classic and restrained aesthetic. The collection introduces new dial options, including a sunray-brushed salmon dial and an opaline dial in various configurations, all powered by the in-house Calibre 1150 automatic movement.
- 38mm case size
- 8.35mm thickness
- 43.35mm lug-to-lug
- 30m water resistance
- 100-hour power reserve
- Price starting at CHF 9,600
The 38mm case size is a deliberate response to collector preference for more restrained dress watches, moving away from the 40mm size previously offered.
The stepped double-ring bezel is a signature design element of the Villeret collection.
The salmon dial features a sunray-brushed finish with hands and applied Roman numerals in 18k white gold with a darkened finish for contrast.
The opaline dial is available in a light gold-beige hue and is paired with white gold accents in the steel version, or matching gold details in the red gold version.
A boutique-exclusive variant features a steel case with yellow gold dial details and an olive-green nubuck alligator strap.
The traditional "XII" marker has been replaced by the "JB" monogram, a tribute to the brand's founder.
The leaf-shaped hands incorporate a sliver of Super-LumiNova for low-light legibility.
The in-house Calibre 1150 movement is thin at 3.25mm, features 28 jewels, 210 components, operates at 21,600 vph, and uses two mainspring barrels for its 100-hour power reserve.
