The dial utilizes a heritage galvanic gilt process where gold markings are revealed from beneath a matte black coating, offering optical depth and luster.
The watch features custom typography, including a gilt "Hodinkee" logo at the 4 o'clock position, and aged Super-LumiNova on the hour markers and hands.
The Miyota 9039 movement was chosen for its slim profile, allowing for a reduced case thickness and a vintage-proportioned skin diver aesthetic.
The hour hand's shape is inspired by the dot and stem of the "i" in Paulin's logo, a subtle design detail.
The unidirectional bezel has a custom texture of polished, sphere-shaped indentations, a motif also found on the screw-down crown.
The watch includes a black and grey-striped NATO strap with a custom Hodinkee-branded buckle.
