Audemars Piguet's "Perspectives on Time" exhibition celebrates 150 years of watchmaking, held at the National Museum of Singapore. The exhibition is divided into four chapters, tracing the brand's history from its founding in 1875 through its innovations in astronomical complications, openworking, and acoustic timepieces.
The exhibition marks 150 years of Audemars Piguet watchmaking, founded in Le Brassus in 1875.
Held at The Gallery Theatre at the National Museum of Singapore from 10–13 September, the exhibition is divided into four chapters: 'Looking Back and Beyond', 'Guided by the Cosmos', 'The Beauty Within', and 'Giving Time a Voice'.
'Looking Back and Beyond' showcases archival pocket and wristwatches from the brand's early years.
'Guided by the Cosmos' explores Audemars Piguet's history with astronomical complications, featuring pieces like the 1921 "Grosse Pièce" pocket watch with 19 complications and the contemporary Calibre 7138 perpetual calendar.
'The Beauty Within' focuses on the art of openworking, demonstrating the meticulous removal of material from movement components.
'Giving Time a Voice' highlights expertise in acoustic complications, including minute repeaters and chiming watches like the Supersonnerie and RD#1.
