Louis Vuitton Monterey Ceramic
Louis Vuitton has reintroduced the Monterey Ceramic, a modern reimagining of its 1988 LV II wristwatch. This new iteration retains the original Gae Aulenti-designed case and dial proportions but incorporates high-end materials and an in-house automatic movement, moving away from the original's quartz alarm caliber. Unlike a previous gold version, the Monterey Ceramic is a regular production model.

The Monterey Ceramic is a modern take on the 1988 LV II, preserving the Gae Aulenti-designed case and dial but updated with contemporary materials and an in-house automatic movement.
The case retains the quirky form of the original, featuring a near-seamless design with a crown at 12 o'clock and a loop on the case back for a pass-through strap.
Available in black or green ceramic, the watch features a lacquered dial, a departure from the fired enamel dial of the previous gold model, but maintains signature red markings and railway-style tracks.
The movement, LFT MA01.02, is developed by Louis Vuitton's watch manufacture, La Fabrique du Temps, and features elements of industrial haute horlogerie.
The original 1988 watches, known as LV I and LV II, were nicknamed 'Monterey' due to mispronunciation and featured a quartz alarm movement supplied by IWC.
The black ceramic model has a white lacquered dial, while the green ceramic version features a green lacquered dial with yellow hands.
