Urwerk UR-300 Time Quantum
Urwerk has introduced a new approach to its signature wandering hours complication with the UR-300 Time Quantum. This model features a novel T-shaped frame mechanism that rearranges itself hourly, utilizing four three-sided prisms to display the time, a departure from the brand's previous use of discs or cubes on symmetrical arms. The UR-300 also sports a new case design and a slightly reduced power reserve compared to some recent Urwerk models.
- Limited to 50 pieces total (25 titanium, 25 black-coated titanium)
- Price: CHF 168,000 (excluding taxes)
- 44-hour power reserve
- 30m water resistance
The UR-300 introduces a new T-frame mechanism for its wandering hours, where two bars swap roles and pivot to reposition prisms that display the time.
Instead of discs or cubes, the UR-300 uses four three-sided prisms, with the 12 hours shared among them, each prism showing hours that are four apart.
All four prisms turn together at the end of the hour, a change from earlier Urwerk watches where only the active disc or cube rotated.
The case is offered in titanium with two finishes: bare metal or black via plasma-enhanced chemical vapour deposition (PECVD).
A discreet seconds display is located beside the minute track, using three hands that each cover 20 seconds across a 120-degree arc.
The movement incorporates Urwerk’s patented Dual Flow Turbine to regulate the automatic rotor's speed.
The watch comes with a NATO strap.
